The three historic cilii

Local sources about Festa del Monte identify three traditional cilii: Burgisi, Ugliara, and Cicirara. Each one reflects a part of Racalmuto's social and working history.

01

Cilio dei Burgisi

Traditionally linked to local agricultural life and one of the three historic Festa del Monte cilii.

02

Cilio degli Ugliara

Connected to olive oil culture and mills, with a strong identity in popular festival memory.

03

Cilio dei Cicirara

Linked to legumes and cereals traditions, completing the historic trio of Racalmuto cilii.

The new Emigrants' Cilio

In 2023, the Emigrants' Cilio was introduced as a concrete symbol of the bond between the town and Racalmuto communities living elsewhere in Italy and abroad.

With this addition, U Ciliu now combines the three historic cilii with a fourth one dedicated to emigrants.
